I strive for perfection. Atleast I try to pretend that I am almost getting there or on the verge of my next perfect breakthrough...
You see, at work, everyone before me were legendary perfectionists and have had 100% success rates. Far ahead of my minor triumphs. How can I fight that sort of history and legends and come out smelling of roses?
Actually, I don't even try. I just say, "Uh huh" "Uh huh" a few times, with a look of wonder and awe on my expressive mug and hope for the best, every time someone recounts how they can leap over mountains, and conquer the oceans.
After all, I am in complete agreement to what Mark Twain had to say on the subject. He said, "Few things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a good example."
Oh, and ITIL never prepared me for this anyway. ITIL is only about IT Infrastructure Library.
