I was nosing around the web looking for something and then got distracted, because I saw a mention of leather. So thought of Parvez Kabir. Parvez deals in leather and finished leather products. He was my classmate and good friend. Solid realiable type fellow...
Anyway, I searched Google for Kanpur news, and the results had me sit up, take notice and burst out laughing. The news all speaks about fire... the headlines go like this..., "Major fire guts houses in Kanpur", then there is, "Woollen mill gutted in huge inferno in Kanpur" and yet another one, "UP oil refining factory catches fire", and, "Fire in Kanpur guts a chemical factory"... There was also some rioting for electricity...
Somebody needs to tell Raj Thackery, that he really doesn't have to rail against north Indians... the northies are doing the job just fine, burning down the country city by city, starting with Kanpur.
Maybe I should call Parvez and tell him to re-locate. Maybe Raminder Singh, and Anil Gujral, Rajesh Narayan, and Alok Narayan, Desmond John, and all the others. With all those fires, it may be just a little bit safer in Mumbai.
